GCSE<\/a> art and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe papers are usually shared with pupils in January. They contain seven \u201cstarting points\u201d on different themes for pupils to choose from and suggest artists to research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students then use them to inform their preparation for a ten-hour supervised assessment, by the end of which they will have produced their own piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AQA confirmed it had been informed by a teacher earlier this month about material on one of the artists\u2019 websites. It made \u201cfurther checks\u201d and found another \u201cwhose website similarly had images that were potentially not appropriate\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
…but no complaints received<\/h3>\n\n\n\n It has since \u201cupdated\u201d the papers to remove the references to Taylor-Johnson and Walker. In the email, the exam board said its \u201cpriority is always to protect our learners\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite this, the spokesperson said it has \u201cnot yet received any complaints about this matter\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAQA follows strict safeguarding principles while selecting artists, based on information available to us at that time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe do however recognise that online content can change and we\u2019re looking into further processes to reduce the chance of this happening again in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AQA is also \u201clooking into further processes we can put in place to stop this from happening again\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teachers using printed copies of the assessment have been asked to \u201credact the names of these artists and their work\u201d themselves, or to print the new version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘No impact on work’<\/h3>\n\n\n\n The AQA spokesperson stressed the \u201cstarting points for students’ research are unchanged, so \u2026 this matter has no impact on the way we will assess their work\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor-Johnson\u2019s website contains various photographs and videos of celebrities, including David Hockney, Daniel Craig, Kirsten Dunst and Megan Rapinoe<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also promotes a number of the films she\u2019s directed, like Fifty Shades of Grey and the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But among the pieces displayed is one called Brontosaurus, a 10-minute, slow-motion video of a man dancing naked in his bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Walker\u2019s page features work produced for a number of publications, like Vogue and the Evening Standard. Among them are photographs of the likes of Harry Styles, Cillian Murphy and Vivienne Westwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there are also topless pictures of singer Beth Ditto and images of men appearing to simulate sex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
